I prefer the .epub versions of books. You can still search and they are not monopolizing one product. Nook can also read other file types, just not for the Kindle because they are proprietary. I really wish this was available for the Nook as I will never buy it in Kindle format because I feel strongly about making information available to all, not just those who purchase the right products to access them.
