Line an 8 x 8" baking pan with waxed paper.

Microwave butter and peanut butter together in large microwave safe mixing bowl until melted. Stir and check every two minutes until melted and smooth.

Add vanilla and powdered sugar to peanut butter mixture and stir to combine. Mixture should resemble a thick cookie dough. Add more powdered sugar if necessary to achieve the desired consistency.

Spoon the fudge into the baking pan and spread out to the edges with a knife.

Cover and chill. Cut into 1" square pieces and store in an airtight container for up to a week.
